Understanding Your 45 LPA Package In-Hand Salary
When an employer offers a package of ₹45 Lakhs (45 LPA CTC), your monthly CTC is ₹3,75,000. The amount credited to your bank (net take-home) is lower: employer PF and gratuity are part of CTC but never paid monthly, and your own Employee Provident Fund (EPF), Professional Tax (typically ₹200/month) and Income Tax (TDS) are deducted from what remains.
Key takeaways for 45 LPA CTC
- Your taxable income under the new regime is ₹40,46,780, which reaches the 30% slab. Income tax comes to ₹8,25,800 a year (₹68,817 a month), 18.4% of your CTC.
- Your CTC works out to ₹3,75,000 a month, of which ₹2,51,965 reaches your bank. The ₹1,23,035 difference is ₹31,518 of employer PF and gratuity held inside CTC, ₹22,500 of your own PF, ₹200 of professional tax and ₹68,817 of income tax.
- A move to 50 LPA would add ₹23,758 a month in hand, while annual tax rises by ₹1,42,880.
Old vs new tax regime at 45 LPA

In-hand salary formula, with your numbers
T is the slab tax, surcharge and cess on taxable income, then rounded to the nearest ₹10 (Section 516 of the Income-tax Act, 2025). Taxable income is salary income ₹41,21,775 (CTC less gratuity and employer PF up to 12% of basic) + retiral perquisite ₹0 − deductions ₹75,000, rounded to the nearest ₹10 = ₹40,46,780.
Gratuity, employer PF and employer NPS are part of CTC but are not paid to you each month, and your own PF and professional tax are deducted from your pay, so in-hand stays below CTC even when the tax is nil. The standard deduction lowers your tax, not your pay. The retiral perquisite is employer PF and NPS above ₹7.5 lakh a year, taxed under section 17(1)(h) of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (section 17(2)(vii) of the 1961 Act).
